About Folkecenter

Nordic Folkecenter for Renewable Energy is a location known worldwide among energy experts. At the centre, visitors are able to experience different renewable energy technologies and gain a complete overview of how a transition toward a 100% renewable energy society can occur.

The conference hall is located in SkibstedFjord, an example of innovative underground architecture. The building, with its 750 m² and 140 seats, is an ideal venue for conferences on renewable energy topics and offers a very pleasant indoor climate throughout the year.

Folkecenter also operates the Danish Test and Resource Centre for Small Wind Turbines, a reference infrastructure for the small and medium wind sector. At the test facilities, developers can test their concepts regardless of their stage of development.

About BENIGN

The BENIGN project focuses on developing and optimizing value chains for seaweed-based bioenergy capable of producing biogas, bio-oil, and bioethanol — thereby advancing the transition to fossil-free energy.

It is a Nordic research and innovation project that brings together partners from five Nordic countries with the aim of promoting the sustainable use of seaweed resources in the region. The project explores innovative, efficient, and circular value chains based on seaweed, addressing the environmental, technological, and societal dimensions of a growing bioeconomy.
